I’m on a Podcast — Gourmet Gamer #44: Witcher, Will, and Wank Watches

Ahhhhhhhhh yeah! It’s not every day that you guest on your favorite podcast, but that’s exactly what happened the other day. The Gourmet Gamer Podcast is a show run by my old friends Zane and Evan, and the show makes me laugh more than any other. Just so you know, the show features raw, unfiltered conversation and is always very NSFW and explicit, so it’s the perfect thing to warp your children’s minds on the way to school! Give it a listen and enjoy!

The Gourmet Gamer Podcast can be found on iTunes, Stitcher or via the Gourmet Gamer website. If you’ve got a fever and the only prescription is more Gourmet Gamer Podcast, then you can also follow Gourmet Gamer on Twitter and Facebook. Don’t forget to rate & subscribe on iTunes if you like it, too! They also have a Patreon page, so if you really like the show, consider donating a few bucks towards an even better show!

As always, I love feedback, so if you listen to the show let me know what you think! Thanks for listening!

I’m on a Podcast — LAMBcast #249: The Hobbit Trilogy

vintage-cat-headphones

It’s that time again! Yesterday, I made my 2nd appearance on the LAMBcast, this time to take about Peter Jackson’s Hobbit films. They’re near and dear to my heart, but it always seems like everyone else is less forgiving of them, so I went in ready to defend them. Turns out I didn’t really need to, as everyone on the show actually likes the series. Imagine that! I guess they wouldn’t have signed up for the show if they hated the films, but you never know. I’ll have a written review up as soon as I can get it done. Maybe later today or tomorrow. Anyway, give the pod a listen and enjoy!

If you want to do that, I’ve embedded it below! If you wanna subscribe to the show or listen on a portable device you can head to iTunes, or PodOmatic (and for convenience’s sake those links will take you right to the respective LAMBcast page on each service). And don’t forget to subscribe to the show if you like it!

I’m on a Podcast — Filmwhys #42 Rashomon and The Guyver

vintage-cat-headphones
It’s that time again! Bubbawheat from the superhero-centric Flights, Tights & Movie Nights was kind enough to have me on his show Filmwhys again, but this time on a “real” episode where we go one-on-one about a pair of movies. I think this is my best podcast showing yet, so if you’ve been waiting around this is the one to listen to. (Although I haven’t listened back to it yet, so I reserve the right to change my mind. 😛 )

We talked about the classic Akira Kurosawa film Rashomon, and the ’90s “classic” The Guyver. Yes, they are two of the most opposite movies you could find, which is why they perfectly represent my love of both ends of the cinematic spectrum. And if you want to be cheeky you could say that thanks to the success of Rashomon opening the doors to foreign cinema in the US, The Guyver (being based on a manga) is partially in its debt! So every time you see a questionable film/TV show based on a Japanese property, feel free to tweet about it with a #ThanksRashomon hashtag! 🙂 Anyway it was a good talk and a lot of fun. I also did not have time to write full reviews — or any reviews, for that matter — of these films, so if want my thoughts you’ll have to listen!

If you want to do that, I’ve embedded it below! If you wanna subscribe to the show or listen on a portable device you can head to iTunes, Stitcher, or PodOmatic (and for convenience’s sake those links will take you right to the respective Filmwhys page on each service). And don’t forget to throw Bubbawheat some love, too! Subscribe to the show if you like it and check out his site!

As always, I love feedback, so if you listen to the show let me know what you think! Thanks for listening!

I’m on a Podcast! — Filmwhys Extra #15 Batman Quadrilogy

vintage-cat-headphones

My 2nd podcast is in the digital can! It went fairly well, although I definitely could have chimed in more. One of these days my nervous jitters will fade away. I hope so, anyway.

As the post title states, the show is Filmwhys, the podcast run by Bubbawheat at Flights, Tights & Movie Nights. This specific episode is an extra one all about the four Batman movies made during the ’80s & ’90s (Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin). Along for the ride were Jason Soto and The Vern, who both talked and contributed much more than I did!

If you want to listen to the show, I’ve embedded it below! If you wanna listen on a portable device you can head to iTunes, Stitcher, or PodOmatic. And don’t forget to throw Bubbawheat some love and subscribe to the show if you like it!

As always, I love feedback, so if you listen to the show let me know what you think! Is it the general consensus that Batman Returns is good? Sound off like you’ve got a pair!

Thanks for listening!

I’m on a Podcast! — LAMBcast #236: Movies from Our Birth Years

vintage-cat-headphones

So I did my first podcast! It went well I thought, even if I completely botched my pitch/description for Bewitched, one of my favorite HK movies ever. I’m so ashamed of myself.

Anyway, if you couldn’t tell from the post title, the show is all about movies from our birth years. I was born in 1981, so I was tasked with coming up with my Top Five Favorites from that year. Everyone else on the show (Jay Cluitt, Dan Heaton, Joel Burman, & Bubbawheat) was born in a different year, too, so there’s a whole lot of movies from the ’70s and ’80s briefly discussed.

If you want to listen to the show, the LAMBcast can be found on iTunes if you search for LAMBcast. Or if you feel like listening to it right here, right now, then click this link and away you’ll go into a magical land of mystery! Or not. Click the link and find out!

And as always, I love feedback, so if you listen to the show let me know what you think! And feel free to tell me I’ve got it all wrong about 1981 or share your thoughts on your Top Five from Your Birth Year, as well!

Thanks for listening!

I’m now available to do podcasts!

podcast_cat

I heard these podcast things are big on the Internet, so I bought a headset and I’m ready to pod! And now, like the cat above, I’m just sitting here by the mic waiting for a call… that’s how it works, right?

I’ve honestly been on the fence for a while about this. I’m not the most conversational person to those that I’m not familiar with, so I always imagined podcasting would be a scary thing that would haunt my dreams. My basic thought process that stopped me was, “I have a hard enough time dealing with people in person, so why not talk to them over the Internet! That makes perfect sense!” But y’know, sometimes you just have to “feel the fear and do it anyway” (to quote the title of a book I’ve never read).

So if you’ve got a podcast and you’re looking for a guest, I’m available! My mic is smokin’, my ears are bristlin’, my voice is crackin’, and that re-cord button is a-itchin’! Hit me up! I’ll just be waiting with this headset on in the meantime!

Guest Podcast at Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights

anime_superhero_projectako

I recently participated in a podcast hosted by Bubbawheat at Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights in which we compare and contrast superheroes in anime with their American cousins. I even manage to remain civil when Bubbawheat brings up that blight upon the anime world, DBZ! I feel like we barely scratched the surface, but a good time was had by all. And if you have any interest in anime or superheroes, you’ll probably have a good time listening in as well. If nothing else, you’ll finally get to hear my real voice, which has absolutely not in any way been digitally altered to conceal my true identity. The show is called Filmwhys, and the episode is Extra #12 Anime Superheroes!

So head on over here to check it out!

The show is also readily available via iTunes, Stitcher, or PodOmatic! Take a listen and let us know what you think!
